Role-Based User Management for Enterprise

Role: Lead product designer

Contribution: Product strategy, User research, Information architecture, User experience, Visual design, Cross-team collaboration, Leadership presentations

This focused, 6-month RBAC project aimed to rehaul our admin user management system to unblock our largest client from a national rollout. We dug into legacy infrastructure and redefining it with every architect, designer, and product manager. It impacted every user on the platform and set the bar for horizontal projects.

As the lead designer on the Admin team, I led co-creation interviews and usability tests with end users, and architected a flexible User Management platform that offered (1) controlled scale: allowing 3 roles per account involving 1000s of permissions, (2) adaptive security: views and access varied by user profile, (3) cohesion: mirrored designs between Employee and Admin views for long-term clarity (4) phased transitions from old to new architecture, to fulfill this 7-figure expansion contract.
