Empowering Agency in Maintaining Home Security

To reduce operational costs, our team was tasked with enabling self-service for non-tech savvy users to change their sensor batteries. This $2.5M problem required a systematic approach to a user's multiple devices (of various versioning) in and on their property.

As the dedicated designer, I created 3 holistic design solutions to teach users to take ownership in managing their security systems based off in-house user research. My solutions offered (1) control panel status view of their system, (2) wiki links immediately in-app, (3) convenient purchase links for supplies, and (4) offline options, referencing all the devices and corresponding batteries that service consultants could physically hand out, all while staying within the existing design system and area of ownership.
